CELEBRATING
THE HOLY EUCHARIST FOR THANKSGIVING DAY
Once again,
this year there are two opportunities to participate in the
celebration of the Holy Eucharist in commemoration of
Thanksgiving Day. First, on the eve of Thanksgiving Day,
Wednesday, November 26, we will commemorate the feast of
Thanksgiving Day at 5:30 pm. Then, on the morning of
Thanksgiving Day, November 27, the Holy Eucharist will be
celebrated at ten o’clock. If you will be in the area, please
make every effort to attend one of these services. If
Thanksgiving Day will be too busy for you, come to the service
on Wednesday evening. If Wednesday evening does not fit into
your schedule, I hope that the service on Thanksgiving morning
will be possible. Also, if you have family or friends visiting
with you at the time, please invite them to attend, too.
CHURCH
HIKING/BIKING/TRAVEL EXPEDITIONS
This month
marks our last scheduled 4th Saturday of the month
outing. Many thanks to those who participated in our previous
events. If you would like to arrange an outing, please contact
Patty Macias, Bishop’s Committee Liaison to Fellowship. On
November 22, we are headed for Lake Skinner. If you plan to
meet us at Lake Skinner on your own, please contact the Church
Office to let us know so we’ll be looking out for you. Also,
we’ll have a picnic lunch. Bring the necessary ‘stuff’ for you
to enjoy the event: sturdy sneakers or hiking boots/shoes, a
picnic lunch, bottled water, and trail snacks.
BOOK
DISCUSSION GROUP:
Each month there is
a different book scheduled for discussion. The list of books
appears below. After reviewing the list, choose those books that
appeal to your interests, read them prior to the dates of
discussion, and come prepared to offer your reflections. (If you
don’t have a copy of a book that you wish to read and discuss,
please consider purchasing a copy from Amazon.com through our
website.) N.B., A couple of the original selections have been
changed – see below.
